My Christmas T(h)ree

Dec 7, 2018

Every year at Highrock we encourage everyone to not only spend their holiday giving on their friends and family but to divide their Christmas giving equally in 3 ways toward:

  • Friends and Family
  • A local cause
  • A global cause

This year our theme for giving is ‘Our Forgotten Neighbors’ both locally and globally. Each week during Advent we will highlight causes/organizations that are close to the heart of Mars Hill and/or Highrock. Or if you have a cause that is dear to you that’s great too! The hope is simply to encourage everyone to give beyond just our own friends and family this Christmas season.

Brookline Food Pantry
The Brookline Food Pantry works to ensure that none of our neighbors goes hungry. Food donations are welcome but cash or gift card donations are best because they provide people and families the opportunity to receive fresh and nutritious food.

Women and Girls Thriving in Brookline
Women and Girls Thriving in Brookline (Thriving, for short) draws on the strengths of the whole community to increase opportunities for learning, leadership development, and community for women and girls living on limited incomes.

Angel Tree
Angel Tree, a program of Prison Fellowship, reaches out to the children of prisoners and their families with the love of Christ. This unique program gives you an opportunity to share God's love by helping to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the families of prisoners.

Covenant Refugee Relief
Covenant World Relief (a ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church) is organizing resources for our refugee neighbors around the world who have had to leave their homes because of war and conflict.
