Ministering As Priests

Scripture refers to the church as a 'holy priesthood' (1 Peter 2:5,9). The body of Christ is a priesthood of all believers onto whom every person has been given a little bit of who Jesus is. Some are apostles, some are prophets, some are evangelists, some are shepherds and some are teachers (Ephesians 4:11-12) - and all are priests gifted for equipping and building up the body of Christ. The MAP ministry invites people to discover, develop and deploy the gift(s) that God has given to them for the building up of the Church.

MAP Discovery Gathering

The first step in the MAP process is to "discover" the gift(s) that God has given you. The process entails taking two online assessments (enneagram and APEST) before attending the MAP Discovery Gathering. At the gathering, you'll receive a general overview of the five-fold ministry gifts laid out in Ephesians 4 (apostle, prophet, evangelist, shepherd, teacher). Afterwards, in smaller groups you'll pray and discern together, asking questions and diving deeper into how God may have gifted each person in the group. For more information regarding upcoming Discovery Gatherings or to sign up email map@highrockbrookline.org.

The next Discovery Gathering is scheduled for Sunday, March 10th, 1pm-3:30pm @39 Harvard St.

MAP Development Gathering

The next step in the MAP process is to "develop" the potential gift that may have been identified. Each gift is explored more in-depth at a Development Gathering to pinpoint further each individual's gift and see if God has called that individual to edify and equip the body in that specific way. We'll also explore practical ways that the gift can be developed by deploying it's use within the community.
