Highrock Southwest Boston

Come to Launch Sunday 10/21 at 10AM at New Mission High School!

Welcome! We're glad you're here.

Highrock Southwest Boston is a brand-new church, getting started this fall. Come be part of our adventure!

What We're About

At Highrock Southwest Boston, we seek to be a diverse, invitational, and intergenerational church family that sees the physical and spiritual renewal of Hyde Park, Roslindale, and surrounding communities. We believe that God is at work in Boston and we're excited to be a part of that movement. Whether this is your first experience with church or you've been involved for years, we invite you to come and see what our community is all about.

What to Expect on Sunday Mornings

Worship

We gather for worship on Sundays at 10:00am at New Mission High School/BCLA in Hyde Park. Come as you are and bring a friend!

We are in the process of developing our worship service, so we don't yet worship every Sunday. Our next opportunities to worship together are September 16th and October 14th. Beginning October 14th, we'll worship every Sunday.

Sunday Morning Programming for Kids & Youth

What We're Up to the Rest of the Week

There's a lot to our community beyond Sunday mornings! For more information about any of the groups below, email Pastor Andy at andyober@swboston.org

Community Groups

Sundays are important times to get together, but we also know that community happens throughout the week!  At our Community Groups we study scripture, pray together, and build deeper relationships with other people in our neighborhoods. Currently, we have groups that meet in Roslindale, Hyde Park, and Jamaica Plain.

Women's Group

Women’s Group is a diverse group of ladies— single or married, with kids or without, of any age— who get together to encourage each other over food to and explore and deepen faith.

Racial Justice Ministry

All throughout the Bible we see God's heart for justice. We see Jesus give countless examples of what it means to cross deep ethnic divides with love and compassion. The Racial Justice Ministry at Highrock Southwest Boston seeks to think and live out God’s missional call to address systemic and interpersonal racism. Our goal is to serve and rally in places that need God’s revitalizing love in the journey to bring his “kingdom come on Earth as it is in Heaven."

Weekly Prayer

Prayer is the life-blood of the church: a time we set aside to listen, ask, praise, and thank God for everything he's up to in our community and in our city. We meet every Wednesday from 8:00-9:00pm via a video conference call.

Youth Group

Come have a snack, make some friends, and discover how God is at work. Youth in 6th - 12th grade meet on Sunday afternoons at 2:00pm. Youth group normally starts with food and a get-to-know you activity. We then have a discussion around a passage from the Bible and talk about how that passage applies to our lives and our world.

Our Leadership

We're led by Pastor Andy Ober and his wife Lisa, the Director of our Kidsrock children's ministry. Andy is a native Rhode Islander and lifelong Red Sox fan who is passionate about equipping and empowering people from all backgrounds to live life in the fullness of God's love and in service to others. Lisa, born and raised in Queens, NY, is proud to call Boston home and excited to make space for people of all generations to question, experience, and follow Jesus. Andy and Lisa live in Hyde Park with their four young kids.

Quaime Lee has recently joined Andy and Lisa as the third member of our teaching team. Quaime is a long-term Hyde Park resident who longs to see hearts awakened and eyes opened to the enduring truth of God's Word and the endlessness of His grace. He is always up for riveting debates about the New England Patriots, the Transformers continuum and Marvel vs. DC.

Our Church Network & Denomination

We are part of the Highrock Network of churches, a family of 10 churches in the Greater Boston area, and a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church
